I haven't posted many breakfast recipes so far - especially when it comes to oatmeal, I thought that it was a very easy meal to prepare and everyone cooks it the way they like it and depending on what they find in the fridge. That's exactly how I made this recipe for the first time, and I thought, because it worked so well, that I had to share it with you. But feel free to combine this with any other fruits and toppings, though I certainly wouldn’t miss out on peanut butter and the crunchy chocolate chunks on top. Even if this is a less healthy version of an average oatmeal, I hope this doesn’t deter you from trying this recipe in the new year.
Yield🍴
4 portions
Time spent🕐
Prep time: 2 minutes
Cook time: 8 minutes
Total time: 10 minutes
Ingredients📄:
50 g of oats (I prefer fine oats)
200 ml almond milk
100 ml of water
1 Tbsp. cocoa powder
50 g dark chocolate
2 Tbsp. honey (skip if you want to make it vegan)
2 bananas, smashed
1 tsp. vanilla
Instructions🔪:
In a smaller pot heat the almond milk and water, add the oats and the cocoa powder. Cook for about 5 minutes while constantly stirring. Then add the chocolate, honey, smashes bananas and the vanilla extract. Cook for another 2 or 3 minutes.
Serve with some banana slices and chocolate on top. I added a spoon of peanut butter just for extra pleasure.
